Whatever happened to that fruity robot?

Ok seriously, someone answer this: why is the show named whatever happened to robot jones. what did happen to him

Don't know but he had a brief cameo in Freefall (webcomic) recently.

When cartoon network put the show on the air again, Robot Jone's voice is stupid. It was a (to me) a great show. I watched anytime I could of.

Episode source list

I had a hard time finding external sources for the episodes, but I found this one [1] which provides air dates. Some of the episode names did not match up with their viewing slot, but I went with the external source. Yngvarr 12:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

How and why?

The sentence "The title was probably taken from the novel-turned-movie What Ever Happened to Baby Jane." seems a bit stretched as the series has no connection with the movie or book other then similar titles however "Probably" is not a fact and until someone can source a quote in which the creators state otherwise it should not be there. --69.209.69.254 (talk) 05:31, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Recent reverts to categories

I have reverted the category again until we can resolve this by consensus (WP:BRD) rahter than edn up in an editing war.

I have restored it again to the pre-disputed change, and would ask that it is left that way until consensus is found, or others join the conversation.

Is the robot in this TV show fictional? If this was a TV show about non-fictional robots, such as those in Robot Wars, I would agree with your deletion of the cat.

For robots such as Number 5 from Short Circuit, and Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still, you can see that Gort is in the Fictional Robot category.

As the robot in this TV show does not have a page of its own, what harm is it having this category on the page? Chaosdruid (talk) 16:58, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

• The category is clearly incorrect since a TV show is not a fictional robot. If there were an article about the lead robot character then that article would go in this category. There is not. Not really clear what the stumbling block is. The "harm" is that placing this category on this article is an example of incorrect categorization which, if left unaddressed, undermines the efficacy of the category system. Hey guys. I understand both @Jerry Pepsi:'s and @Chaosdruid:'s points. Johnny 5 is listed at [[Category:Fictional robots]], but clicking the Johnny 5 link redirects to Short Circuit. Would an acceptable compromise be to create a page for Robot Jones, redirect it to Whatever Happened to..., then add the Fictional Robot category to the redirect page, and remove the category from Whatever Happened to...? Is that too sloppy? Clearly Robot Jones is a fictional robot. There should be some way to include him in the list. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:23, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Agreed, that is one possible solution - another would be to use "Fictional robots in television" & leave "Robots in television" to refer to real robots, rather than fictional ones, a solution that would still leave ambiguity.

The reason for my concern is that "Robots in television" covers both fictional, and non-fictional. Fictional robot would be a more specific cat than that one, which is how we do things - As specific a cat as possible.

This article is about a fictional robot and the TV series in which it appears; moreover, in the sections "Characters>Main" & "Overview", there is a great deal of info on Robot Jones, more than just a synopsis.

On a side note, is he mostly referred to in the series (by other characters) as "Robot", "Jones" or another title? As per MoS it should be this which is used in the body of the article (similar to "Bender is ..." rather than "Rodriguez is ...") - I apologise for not having watched the programme and thus having no clue as to which should be used :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 17:53, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Low-print official VHS release found on eBay!

Whatever this is, it appears to be official. It looks like one or more episodes of the series were officially released on at least one VHS, but a reliable source I have not found. I'm just going to leave this here in case it gets brought up again. If anyone has any more info about this, don't be afraid to post it. Number of episodes

There needs to be some consistency in the episode count. The info box says 13 episodes and the summary says 26 episodes. I tried to edit the info box and it was reverted. Instead of going back and forth, which is the correct episode count?

The article used to have 26 in the summary, and 13 in the info box. I tried changing the summary to 26 episodes, and it was reverted. I then tried changing the summary to 13 episodes, but assumed that would be reverted as well, so I created this topic to discuss which number should be used. 13 seems to have stuck, so I guess that's what we're going with. — EmilioDiegoGarcia (talk) 23:55, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
