Split pages edit

I intend to split the current page into four pages:

Wetherby railway station - A dis' page between the following three (the current title)
Wetherby railway station (Linton Road) - The last major railway station in the town and the one which most of the text refers to
Wetherby railway station (York Road) - The original station
Wetherby racecourse railway station - The station built in place of the York Road station, as since the move to the Linton Road station in the 1900s, the main railway station was at the far end of the town from the racecourse

This will not be a simple move, and it will require copy and paste (to a degree) rather then a conventional move because the current page is a rather vague amalgamtion of the three railway stations.

If there is no objections, I will make the change shortly.

Probably best to have the dab in the middle of the page name rather than the end, most have it this way but by no means all. Wetherby (Linton Road) railway station & Wetherby (York Road) railway station should do it. I would also use a capital for Racecourse in the third article. I agree with the split, though I think it could be more radical still. Currently it is an amalgam of discussion of the routes involved (Harrogate - Church Fenton, Wetherby - Crossgates) as well as detail on Wetherby station. I'm responsible more than anybody else for this fudge, as I have put the Beeching info etc. up, but I think that could be better organised. But it needs somebody with more skill and experience than me to do it.

Pages are split edit

I have split the pages, however the work on the 'Cross Gates - Wetherby' and 'Harrogate-Church Fenton' railway lines which previously centred on the page 'Wetherby railway station' now centres on the page 'Wetherby (Linton Road) railway station'.
