"The manors of Weeton, Preese, Mythop and Swarbrick were acquired by Sir Thomas Stanley of Lathom, later the first Earl of Derby, in 1400."
Previous version was "Sir John Stanley of Lathom", but the first Earl of Derby was not born until 1453? Martinevans123 (talk) 12:24, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Watson edit
Watson, RC (1990) seems to be lacking a publisher. Has it been published somewhere? Watson (1994) is described as "an unpublished article", so I'm not sure that should be regarded as a WP:RS. Presumably the author is the R. C. Watson who appears here? Martinevans123 (talk) 13:15, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
