Is a web tag the same?
As I write, we have no redirect page (or article) for web tag, a term used on https://www.fullcirclestudies.com/scorecardresearch.aspx:
- ... websites around the world ... agree to deploy a special code called a web tag throughout their sites. A web tag is used to collect information about (visits) to ... websites. In addition, the ScorecardResearch web tag utilizes a cookie. A cookie ... often includes an anonymous unique identifier ... . ScorecardResearch uses ... web tags and cookies to help ... count users who have visited ... a page ... .
This sounds much the same as a web beacon as described in this article; given this usage, if it is, web tag should redirect here and be mentioned here as a synonym, otherwise it should be or redirect to an article about it. Can someone help? I would be glad to do the edits, but doing it oneself is probably barely more trouble! PJTraill (talk) 16:15, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
