Missing details

Some tantalizing details are missing.

Thompson's marriage disolved in 1929. He "eventually" married Mary Shearburn. When? Were the events related?
After Thompsons death his great niece discovered his memoirs. So what? Were they published, donated, burned in a bonfire, (probably not), or what? Citation and details needed.
