origin

The article based on the LoC states that the kingdom originated from Darfur, the article at Wadai that I am merging in states that it is from the Kanem-Bornu Empire. This isn't sourced so I'll go with the LOC, but if someone has an independent source that they can double check... - BanyanTree 15:01, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

correct name?

Subsequent to the merge mentioned above, I found Rulers of Wada'i. It also appears that Wadai is more widely used that Ouaddai, with Brittanica using Ouaddai for the current cultural region of Chad and Wadai for the kingdom. Wadai seems to be used more often. In fact many sources (all I have seen) do not mention Ouaddai at all. J.K Nakkila (talk) 14:15, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Amusing error

Title: "Empire"?

The word "Empire" is only used in this article in its title. Elsewhere it's a kingdom or sultanate. From its description it doesn't seem to have been an empire as such, i.e. a state consisting of multiple nations ruled by a dominant minority. Do the sources support the use of "Empire"?
