An extremely famous example not listed. edit
While I am new to the editing caper, and don't know how to go about creating citations, an extremely famous example of this phenomenon was when The Dark Knight was first released and some IMDB users felt it was the greatest film ever and this 'fact' simply HAD TO be reflected in the IMDB rating. There was a coordinated effort to create dummy accounts to upvote the Dark Knight while downvoting the nearest 'pretenders to the throne', ie the Shawshank Redemption and the Godfather. In the 12 months following the Dark Knight's release, the Godfather dropped a full 0.2 of its 0-10 rating. The situation was later restored by IMDB when they deleted many of the votes created by the dummy accounts during this time. Here's a possible citation that could be used.

- @Robbmonster: Hey Robb, I suggest looking a a tool called ProveIt, which can create citations out of URLs and other kinds of identifiers.
- As for the source, I'm not completely content with it. It relies primarily on unnamed blogs and comments, which aren't WP:RELIABLE by Wikipedia's standard.
