I would like to propose firstly that the entry should be titled "Franklin Victor Reno". That was his name. It is a matter of fact that the "secret" documents he gave to Whittaker Chambers were firing tables for the US Browning machine gun used in the World War I. See Meyer Zeligs,"Friendship and Fratricide", page 249. Dr. Zeligs also records the fact that Chambers blackmailed him into paying him 50 dollars for Chambers' silence over either the supply of supposedly confidential documents (already obsolete), or over the fact that Reno was a closet homosexual. This is set out in Zeligs' book over pages 247-251. Zeligs could not mention the homosexual matter because at that time homosexual acts were illegal. He glosses over the facts about Alger Hiss' stepson, Timothy Hobson, for the same reason. Rhosfawr17:50, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Franklin Victor Reno edit
I know nothing about the spy cases, but I do know the man's middle name was Victor not Vincent. I am curious to know the origin of the mistake. If it is based on contemporary sources, perhaps they surmised the wrong name. Jfgrcar (talk) 18:14, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps I should add there was a Franklin Vincent Reno but he was the father of the person discussed in this wiki page.
