A fact from Vilama (caldera) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 9 July 2018 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the Vilama caldera volcano on the border between Bolivia and Argentina produced over 1,200 cubic kilometres (290 cu mi) of rock in a single eruption?

I'll be reviewing this over the next few days. ceranthor 20:30, 16 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Lead
"Vilama is a Miocene caldera in Bolivia and Argentina. " - I think it's better to introduce the Miocene age slightly later, not in the first sentence. I'd also add "epoch" after Miocene
"one of the four volcanic belts in the Andes." - should probably briefly clarify what the Andes are for someone unfamiliar with South American geography
"Vilama is a remote caldera and part of the Altiplano-Puna volcanic complex" - I'd just say "Vilama is remote" since a "remote caldera" sounds like a jargon term; I would add "forms" before "part" to introduce the active voice
"15–18 kilometres (9.3–11.2 mi)-35–40 kilometres (22–25 mi)" - easier to read as between the two ranges
"buried beneath younger volcanoes that have in part grown along the margin of the caldera" - I don't think "in part" adds anything
"volcanic activity on these continued into the Pleistocene" - I'd be more precise in referring to the volcanoes than "on these"
"Another large ignimbrite, the Sifon ignimbrite, may also have been erupted by Vilama, while the Granada ignimbrite was later attributed to a separate volcano." - if the Granada ignimbrite wasn't erupted by Vilama, it's probably not worth mentioning in the lead here
I was working off Calabozos where the age is mentioned upfront. Added a link for Andes. To my understanding Granada was formerly attributed to Vilama, so clearing that up upfront seemed reasonable to me. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 06:33, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Geography and geomorphology
"The Vilama caldera lies on the border between Argentina and Bolivia in the Puna-Altiplano, a high plateau in the Central Andes.[2] " - again, I'd briefly clarify what the Andes are
"The volcano straddles the border between Bolivia and Argentina, northeast of Cerro Zapaleri and the tripoint between Argentina, Bolivia and Chile there.[3]" - are you trying to say the volcano lies to the northeast, and that it marks the tripoint? If so, it's not totally clear; I'd reword or split into two sentences.
"The Central Volcanic Zone is home to over a thousand " - more than, not over
"of which 44 were active after glacial times" - after glacial times? what does this mean?
"and frequently reach heights of over 6,000 metres (20,000 ft).[7] " - above or more than, not over
"about 15–18 kilometres (9.3–11.2 mi)-35–40 kilometres (22–25 mi) wide" - same note as in the lead about between
"with the exception of a 250–400 metres (820–1,310 ft) high" - need a |adj=on
"The caldera contains a 30 by 10 kilometres (18.6 mi × 6.2 mi) large[8]" - need a |adj=on
"surrounded by a 400–800 metres (1,300–2,600 ft) deep moat" - need a |adj=on
"The caldera was at first considered to be 40 by 65 kilometres (25 mi × 40 mi) large" - rather than "large", I'd put "in width"
"the 20 by 40 kilometres (12 mi × 25 mi) Coruto caldera" - need a |adj=on
