Talk:Vicki Van Meter

A good photo, but can we use it? edit

Pilot who flew cross-country at age 11 commits suicide has an appropriate photograph. Is it fair use though? I would prefer a free photo of her at age 10-12 in a pilot uniform, near a plane, or being honored for her flight-related achievements. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:01, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Television Appearance edit

Wasn't she also on Letterman or Leno, too? I seem to remember some television and late night interviews. Vampromero (talk) 02:03, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Citation please" - alas, without a citation we can't say it. I put "she appeared on television" with a citation, that should cover it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, David, that's why this question was in the Discussion area. It becomes a discussion, and perhaps someone knows the exacts. I ask because iy sounds to me like you are saying I don't know this already. If I didn't post it in the article, I must already know tis. At least, I think I'm bing reasonable.Vampromero (talk) 03:41, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Additional local obituary articles with additional information edit

The local newspaper ran several stories after her death that include information not in the Wikipedia article. Not all of that information is encyclopedic, however. Use good judgement.

== Uppercase "Van" == Victoria Van Meter was the first young girl to ever to fly an airplane across the USA and she died because sh crashed. I found many different websites that said she crashed and got killed. She was an amazing girl and she had a life full of hopes and dreams that came true. Some of her hopes never got accomplished nor did some of her dreams. I learned that many people don't accomplish what they want in life and they are okay with it because they can always try again. I have never experienced her life and I wish I were her. Victoria Van Meter, 11, first girl to fly across the United States. Her flight instructor never once took the controls. She always had spirit and spirit led to success for her. She had a very nice life that she let go and slipped away. In 2008 I was crying in tears because she was 30 and she was young. I mean like at such an early age you die and never live to be older. And I quote "Many people have different goals they set for but never accomplish, whenever you need to start your new goals, and always remember that you don't always have to accomplish your goals." That quote was from Martin Luther King Junior another one of the greatest men to have ever live. Not everyone has the chance to have all of their dreams and hopes full filled.
