Source for the claim that the Swing family has purchased the company back from RRL edit
Hi N2e! i have some questions about your comments: 1) Scott and Doug Swing are the father and son referred to in the first paragraph of the article as "the Swing family". 2) I would *like* to refer to the tvbf.org archives, but the archives for most of 2010 were lost, so I don't have a publicly available source of the email. I *do* have a copy of the email in my inbox. Is there a way to publish it that would be acceptable as a reference?

I have been asked to post this on behalf of Scott and Duane as you know they do not monitor the reflector.

the Velocity family and those who are regulars in the Reflector Group. As most of you already know, Scott Baker no longer works for Velocity Inc. This move by Velocity has nothing to do with Scott�s ability or our working relationship with him. We simply must reduce our costs to reflect more accurately our expenses in operating this business. The aviation world has been hit hard by the economic downturn and especially the experimental aircraft market. Velocity is no exception to this trend and unless we trim our expenses, Velocity Inc. will not survive. Our salaries and wages are our biggest expense and a reduction in personnel was the only avenue left. John Abraham, Art Jones and myself will share the work previously done by

On another note, it was thought that Rocket Racing would bring financial strength to our organization and an agreement was signed with them giving them complete control of Velocity. Promises made and not kept were the norm. For those of you wondering just what influence Rocket Racing has with Velocity, let me assure you that they have none. As I write this, the sole ownership of Velocity Inc. is now totally and completely in the hands of Scott Swing and myself. Through a stock exchange, Scott and I returned our Rocket Racing stock for 100% return of the stock they held in Velocity Inc. Rocket Racing now has 0% ownership in this company. <o p=""></o>

- Thanks Emteeoh for attempting to provide a source for the questioned claim. Best, of course, is to have an active URL link in a citation. Given the circumstance you report, I would think it ought to be okay to use an alternative method. Since you are new to Wikipedia, I'll try to show you how it might be done. Do note, here at WP:CS, there is more than one way to do citations on Wikipedia. Moreover, there is little support for standardizing on the more complicated citations, so I usually do something simple. In this case, with no live URL possible, I would just use the URL to the section of this Talk page that you provided above, and then, importantly, include as a quotation in the citation the main substance of the relevant text. This is to make an attempt to comply with Wikipedia policy for verifiability. So I would write the citation something like this:
- <ref name=tvbf20100526> [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Velocity,_Inc.#Source for the claim that the Swing family has purchased the company back from RRL Swing Family Repurchase of Velocity Inc. from Rocket Racing League], Velocity Aircraft Listserve, text copy from tvbf.org archives, 2010-05-26. - You should feel free to copy that text into the article immediately behind the sentence where you make the assertion you want to source. The double apostrophes at both ends of the quotation will simply place the text quotation into itallics when it shows up in the references section; the ref name is optional, and simply allows a reference to be used more than once in an article, if necessary. - Yeah, great work on several articles now. There is much more to do, but you are quickly getting the hang of it. The citation I gave you to copy had a bug in it, in the way I had tried to get it to come to this particular section of this Wikipedia article (which is unorthodox; but it is WP:V, sort of). It is fixed now. (Usually, I have a way of copying the correct syntax for a link to any Wikipedia article (or Talk page) section which prevents such errors—but I could not use that method as this Talk page doesn't have enough sections yet to have automatically generated a table of contents for the page.)
- I made a few other citation cleanups to give you an idea of the basics that I think are minimal in any good citation, and also how you can link to another Wikipedia article for the name of the source, IF that source has a Wikipedia article on it (which most do).
