Here are some tasks awaiting attention: Cleanup : Its mostly cleaned up now but some cruft and badly worded sentences remain. Copyedit : Write fictional information in present tense. Verify : Cite the areas where needed. Wikify : Character biography.

So let me get this straight...

Loituma is mentioned in the Orihime Inoue article...

Caramelldansen is mentioned in the Popotan article...

RickRolling is mentioned in the Rick Astley article...

The incredibly obscure "This is delicious!" and "YES! YES!" are mentioned in the M. Bison article...

Every person and their brother is missing the point. It doen't matter how many people know about it. What matters is that it had a drastic impact on socity mainly if it's been on in the new. Rickrolling is notible because it's made national headlines with reporters even asking Astley his thoughts on the the issue. Also was joked upon at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. So with that said, where has "It's over 9000" made national headlines and exposes done on CNN and HLN? The same can also be said about Loituma, Caramelldansen, and "This is delicious!". I've got to agree. If anything, make a References in Pop-Culture section. The "It's over 9000" schitck is everywhere, from television (I've seen it DOZENS of times on G4) to video games (In World of Warcraft, there is an achievement called "It;s over 9000" if you get 9 (or maybe 10) thousand achievement points. why on earth

Vegito or Vegetto?

Both names are used in the article and both have been used in Dragon Ball continuity, but the article does not state which is preferred. Dragon Ball fans have established that Vegito is the best, official name, as evidenced by the redirect here [1] to here [2]. Over 9000/Other Media

YouTube videos are almost never a reliable source unless it is the channel of an establish publication or news agency, like an official NBC channel. And without reliable sources, the meme should not be included in the article, or anywhere else in Wikipedia for that matter. —Farix (t | c) 01:01, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Gyallic Cannon is Incorrect?!

The page has a note saying not to change "any instance of the word Garlic to Galic or Galick" because "Garlic Gun is the translation of the original Japanese word" and that "Galic and Galick were coined by Funimation". This is completely wrong, however. ギャリック砲 (Gyarikki Hō) is NOT the "translation of the original Japanese word". The Japanese spelling of the English word garlic is ガーリック (gārikku). ギャリック (gyarikku) transliterates to something like gyallic. In the subtitles on FUNimation's DVDs, and in their translation of the Dragon Book, ギャリック砲 (Gyarikki Hō) is translated as Gyallic Cannon, although their English dub uses Galick Gun or something like that.

I'd like to correct this on the page, but I don't want it to get reverted because some people (who don't know Japanese) think I'm vandalizing the page. Linkdude20002001 (talk) 23:06, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I guess I'll go and change it back to the correct "Gyallic Ho". But first I shall look up what kind of consensus has been made about the spellings/terminology in general. I could'a sworn the consensus was to use Viz's spellings/terminology... But even still we've got pages like "Krillin" and "Frieza"... So why Garlic Gun? Not Competitive?

The following is the last line of the first paragraph under "Creation and Conception."

'Vegeta was conceived as anti hero and main rival of Goku who with his arrogant and competitive nature is opposite to Goku's calm demeanor and lack of competitiveness as Goku only fights when absolutely necessary.'

Really? Whoever wrote this has clearly not read the comics or seen the show at all. Although Goku does have a calm demeanor, he loves to fight, and is very competitive. He is always fighting in friendly bouts, this is a constant of his personality. I recommend this sentence be altered to reflect this. Kronos o (talk) 23:01, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

I found a book "With a foreword by Ryo Horikawa, the Japanese voice of Vegeta, Dragon Ball Z “It’s Over 9,000!” When Worldviews Collide is the first e-book to explain where “It’s Over 9,000!” came from, how the original video spread to receive over 7 million views, and why it continues to be such a popular catchphrase." Vegeta in Fantastic Four

I know full well that the image floating around the internet is not photoshopped, and there's no reason to believe that this source is unreliable, either. But, if there is still doubt, and belief that it may be photoshopped, if I find the issue and panel number and verify it myself, can we put it back in the article? It needs more notability on its own as with D'oh!, which made it into the Oxford English Dictionary. Otherwise it just gets redirected to Vegeta's page as with most catchphrases associated with a person or character. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:43, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Vegeta IV

Based on the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film, Vegeta is the fourth of the name (Freeza informs Paragus that 'Vegeta IV/ the fourth' is on Earth). Just a note re: this point; presumably in the not-too-distant future there will be a valid source referring to this and the fact can be included in the article.
