Talk:Variable reluctance sensor

This article misleads and misses the broad case of Variable Reluctance sensors by only focusing on sensors used for rotational speed measurement (in automobiles) with a magnet attached to the spinning target. The general case is correctly touched on in the opening paragraph: "detects the change in presence or proximity of ferrous objects". A Variable Reluctance sensor does not require a permanent magnet as described in the "Construction" section. Instead, an the varying inductance of a coil positioned near a ferrous moving target can function as a variable reluctance sensor without any permanent magnet used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.236.43.222 (talk) 16:47, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
