"The cake's history was the subject of a dissertation for a doctorate by historian Laurie Bertram at the University of Toronto.[5]" Would it be more appropriate to pull the one or two important highlights from the doctorate and then cite them? Laurie Bertram is not a particularly notable personality at the scale of a Wikipedia audience so it might be more useful to refer to the content of the work, not just that it was done. 70.162.245.221 (talk) 20:58, 10 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
