The film is based on the assassination of Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama, who arrived in Kappad near Calicut in 1498. Interestingly Urumi comes with the tagline: 'The boy who wanted to kill Vasco Da Gama.'Director By Santhosh Sivan.

Music plagiarism

The film's music may be copied from some western albums or films but wiki is not the place to include those stupid details. And the IP user who is continuosly reverting me is citing an article published by itwofs.com, which is a personal blog and fails WP:RS. -- Arfaz (talk) 06:44, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

GOCE Copy-edit of November 7 - 9, 2015

In response to a request for a copy-edit of Urumi (film) at Wikipedia#WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests, I am copy-editing the article. I have one concern now, and I may have more as I go through the article:

1) The first paragraph in the section Urumi (film)#Production starts with a quote from Santosh Sivan, the cinematographer-cum-director. The quote is followed the speaker of the quote and then the verb: "Santosh Sivan, the cinematographer-cum-director, explained his initial thoughts on a film on Vasco da Gama." There are a few things wrong here:

(a) Normally, in Wikipedia articles, a section does not begin with a lengthy quote. First, the person who has spoken or written the lines should be given.

(b) Here, the speaker is identified, but very little information is given as to when or where or to whom he was speaking. Was this in an interview? At a film premiere?

I would start the section by giving the situation (interview, premiere, etc.), and/or to whom he was speaking, and when. Also, I think it might be helpful to provide just a few details about the "film on Vasco da Gama". What year was it made? What type of film waas it? Was it a documentary, a docudrama, a made-for-television drama? Something like one of these:

• In a 20-- interview [with...] on the "XYZ" television program, Santosh Sivan, the film's cinematographer-director, commented on a 20-- docudrama on Vasco da Gama, saying:

(and use the blockquote template <blockquote>...</blockquote> for this long quote).

or:

• At the 20-- premier of Urumi, the film's cinematographer-director, Santosh Sivan, explained:

or:

• Commenting in a 20-- interview on the documentary film "....." on Vasco da Gama, the cinematographer-director of Urumi, Santosh Sivan, said: – Corinne (talk) 22:50, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

I just read the section Urumi (film)#The English version, and I see that it is to be titled Vasco da Gama. Is this the film Sivan was commenting on in the "Production" section? If so, I think that ought to be made clear. Corinne (talk) 23:13, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
