"Among those dead are -- Mr. John spears, Carence Ter.,
St. Luke's Cork.
Mr. J. Byrne, Harold's Cross,
Dublin.
Both Commercial Travellers.
The wounded include:-- Richard Arhurs, Cork, guard of the train, hip shattered. John Sisk, signalman, Kinsale Junction, bullet wound in the thigh. Mrs. Rosboro and Mrs. Whiteley, clothes vendors, Cork, proceeding to Dunmanway market. Mr. Berkham, Cork. Six of Liverpool Regt., one seriously."
The article also states the exchange lasted 20 minutes not ten.
It states they took cover in the building opposite the train which was a goods store and hid behind meal bags. It is said that it was the 9.30 train from Cork and arrived at 3:30 pm in Bandon.
