Talk:Upton-by-Chester High School

This article could be with more information.... edit

Suggested sections:

  • History opened c.1967 as a secondary modern then became a comprehensive when Cheshire LEA abolished the Grammar system.
  • Headmasters - past and present. e.g. Butterworth and Jackson.
  • School buildings. Growth of the site from A and B blocks, then C and D blocks in the seventies. Present day E block.
  • Uniform. Originally grey or white shirt, green tie, with green or grey jumper, black or grey trousers. Now blue shirt, black blazor, black trousers, and a red/silver tie.
  • Notable alumni. Upton must have had some people who managed to get out the gutter? Some of us didn't just end up working for MBNA or McDonalds!

Very much so! You might, however, want to take a look at WP:WPSCH and WP:WPSCH/AG, particularly with regard to notability - for example, the current HT is in the infobox, would there be any notability whatsoever of past HTs? Or of expanding the present one? There'd also be a need to third party citations as well of course, which can often prove a bit tricky with school articles. No kidding, this is crap, just compare the Christleton High School to this article on Upton. The sad fact is there was material on here, but it was deleted! This is definitely a E minus!!

Dave Roberts (RIP) edit

Sad news, Dave 'Psycho' Roberts the affable but highly-unpredictable physics teacher of the 1980s and 90s died suddenly last week. He had passed away a short battle with cancer. The church was packed out for his funeral in Upton.86.148.207.209 (talk) 15:27, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Assessment edit

Stub: Articles with out adequate independent references are always stubs. There is enough material here to become a start class- and with a little more work a C. Look at Judd School to see what can be achieved. --ClemRutter (talk) 18:34, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Literally no sources for this.... Seems like it would fail an AFD. edit

There is exactly one citation, and even that needs a better source.....Someone who knows about this school, kindly add references/sources in the article.Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 13:59, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
