Dates edit

OK, I am a little puzzled here. This is the "Revolt of 1844", but the infobox includes a date range from 1839 to 1847, and in the text, it says that the revolt started in July 1843. So either way, the title is wrong. Can someone please enlighten me why it is called that way? Constantine 23:40, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

It should be Albanian Revolts of 1843-1844. I don't agree with Vinie007's edit [1] that involves a minor upheaval in 1839, which is part of the background. Rather than moving the page though I'll ask Aigest's opinion. --Sulmues (talk) 01:27, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is some ambiguity among historians, about the naming of this revolt. It actually initiated in 1843, but its main actions took place in 1844. Some use the name 1843 revolt(mainly 19th century books), some 1843-1844 revolt, some only 1844 revolt and some others simply refer as Dervish Cara revolt (although this last title also has some issues, since other actions outside its control and leadership, like the case of Dibër and Shkodër). We can change it to 1843-44 revolt if you think that title is more descriptive. Aigest (talk) 07:54, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, what is the name that is used in bibliography? That form should be preferred. Otherwise, indeed, a correct descriptive name should be in order, plus some fixes in the infobox. Constantine 16:09, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is no common name, more generally it is mentioned as a revolt of 1844 (1) (2) or some times as Dervish Cara revolt (both titles have issues. The more exact descriptive form would be that of The Albanian revolt of 1843-44. Aigest (talk) 21:49, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
All right then, Albanian Revolt of 1843–1844 it is, unless there are any objections. Constantine 23:46, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Names edit

To Antidiskriminator

Leave the names as Albanian names. This is an article about the Albanian revolts, and so the city names should be in Albanian. I reviewed the original article, and the names were all spelt in Albanian. You have no reason to change them to Serbian names. You say you don't want to edit war - then stop changing my edits. --- iRi. Dirifer (talk) 11:20, 2 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is English language wikipedia. On this wikipedia placenames are referred to per their English language common names (wp:commonname). Not Albanian language names. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 11:49, 2 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
They are not English common names. They are Serbian common names. ---iRi. Dirifer (talk) 12:15, 2 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
They are English common names. If you believe they are not, please start move discussion before changing them to Albanian language names. Regarding the flag, please see this comment.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:55, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

That case is different. This is a rebellion. Dirifer (talk) 17:08, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
