Who can't do their sums: UNOSOM II had a strength of 28,000 personnel, including 22,000 troops and 8,000 logistic and civilian staff —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.67.121.191 (talk) 09:36, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Inaccuracy: page states that all U.S. forces pulled out by 3 Mar 1994, 28 days ahead of schedule. This is incorrect. My team was still at the Red Roof Inn (part of the Airport Compound) on 17 Mar 1994; it was relieved by a Marine detachment that came over-the-shore to provide security for the final pull-out. We flew out on the same C-5 that carried the bodies of the crew of the Specter gunship that crashed off the coast of Kenya. Abuspud (talk) 04:03, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The 4 american soldiers that were killed by that roadside bomb that triggered operation Gothic Serpent was on august 8 and not 21 as is stated in the article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.21.214.42 (talk) 22:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

$1 warrant? edit

In the UNISOM II Operation section, it says that a $1 warrant was put out for information about Aidid. That can't be right...or then again, it might explain why they didn't capture him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.102.121.208 (talk) 21:29, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

UN Resolution 897 was adopted on 4th February not $th November — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.6.204.228 (talk) 10:40, 25 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Issues in "End" section: Sources, globalise edit

The text in the "End" section currently has multiple issues.

  1. It is overdependent on a single secondary source even though it would be more logical to draw from primary UN sources given the fact that it starts with a chronology of events within a UN operation.
  2. This overdependency shows signs of overrepresentation of the American perspective on the UN mission rather than being inclusive of the view of participating UN member states / the international community, not to mention the Somali perspective. More sources are required.
  3. There is an unsourced quotation and I have been unable to verify its source. Please add the source if you happen to know its origin.
  4. The text confused UNSC Resolutions 897, 945, and 955. I have verified their dates and contents and fixed the text, but please feel free to contribute more information. --SabasNL (talk) 14:43, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
