Fair use rationale for Image:UnionArabeFootballAssociation.gif edit

Image:UnionArabeFootballAssociation.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Does it really exist? edit

I seriously doubt that league officially exists. Do you have other sources than the website? And how could an association is not able to write their name correctly? In French it would have been "Union Arabe de Football Association", with an e at the end of Arabe.96.20.2.116 (talk) 09:29, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Justification of member nations edit

There should be somewhere in the article where it explains the membership.

eg Why are Iraqi/Kuwaiti teams involved but Iranian teams not?

Did they not get invited or did they not want to play? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Villafancd (talkcontribs) 23:11, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't think Iran are invited because of some regional issues such as the naming of the Gulf, it seems Iran calls in the Persian Gulf and everyone else calls it the Arabian Gulf - but I cannot confirm this. If UAFA ever get their website up again, then hopefully they would have an history section which would give us some indication as to when and where this Association was formed and their general goals behind it. Druryfire (talk) 17:26, 24 April 2009 (UTC) Iraqi and Kuwaiti teams belong to Arab nations. Iran is not an Arab nation. The Gulf Cup is not the Arab Cup. --El Grillo Millonario (talk) 01:34, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed - section "International Competitions participation" edit

The whole "International Competitions participation" section makes no sense, as those national teams participation in those competitions is not directly related to this entity; they qualified as members of AFC or CAF, maybe something else too, but I doubt there were any "UAFA qualification stage for the World Cup / Olympics". That is, the qualification table are correct (at first glance) but they do not belong here. - Nabla (talk) 23:06, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

22 or 23 members? edit

This article tells about 22 UAFA members in one place while about 23 members in another place. There are two lists - both include 22 members. Also http://jason.soffe.free.fr/world/uafa.php shows 22 members. The 23rd member could be possibly South Sudan which seems to have played in the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 qualifications (https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/mens/arabcup/arabcup2021/media-releases/fifa-arab-cup-2021-tm-qualification-match-between) However, this tournament is held by FIFA, not UAFA. Hi Grillofrances, there is a mistake, there are 22 members in UAFA. In the 2021 Arab Cup, South Sudan was just an invitee. Best regards. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 22:10, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Faycal for fixing that. However, please include an edit summary for future edits, at least a few words or even one word, so we could have some idea what a given edit is about, just looking at the history. Grillofrances (talk) 22:19, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Grillofrances, yes of caurse, you right, thank you for warring me. --Fayçal.09 (talk) 23:05, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
