is a game/VR engine really middleware edit

Well the same thing like in the [Dagor_Engine_3] - is a game/VR engine really middleware?

Two points, well, two connected points: Firstly, it really reads a lot like an advertisement. And secondly... is it just coincidence that the main editor and creator of this article goes by "BinStream" and the Unigine Corp's CEO has a "Binstream" tagged to his name on the official company site? jae 21:26, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Probably not. I have informed Binstream of the COI policy which is usually the best way to handle such things Nil Einne (talk) 11:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability? edit

I noticed there is a notability tag attached to the article. I have already removed the "no citations" notice, as I added a few, and I am considering removing this too due to the fact it is included in the Phoronix Test Suite, a very notable Linux hardware tool. If I do not get a response by the end of the week I am removing the tag. Comrade Hamish Wilson (talk) 07:33, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps the first question anyone would ask about Unigine edit

The key issue here and one that remains a mystery based on the promotional material (the web site, demos and client portfolio) - is that of system architecture; is this a client-server platform suitable for multi-user tasks?

Surely both, games and Virtual Reality/World applications of Unigine would be heavily reliant on the collaborative capabilities in order to provide substantial practical utility to its users. I may be mislead by the nature of the demo downloads and what I've seen so far, but from a technical point of view it appears that the 'world' content and state is a local instance existing solely on the users' computer.

If this is so and the system is limited to exchange of fixed models, communication and perhaps camera fly-through timelines I see little potential in developing applications using this paradigm. There are many game engines in existence already and while slick Unigine does not actually stand out based on the spec I've seen. E.g. I would like to see some references to the creation process and the capability for integration of readymade models using established 3D model definition data formats.

In other words, it is like comparing the dynamic world of Second Life (I'm one of a great number of residents in SL) to the fixed, chat-only environment of the recently launched (beta) Blue Mars.

"Serious Game" Features - Misnomer? edit

There currently is a section Serious Game Features. I do not get the reference to Serious Games here. Should this be renamed to "Game Features"? --217.66.60.14 (talk) 15:18, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

YouTube men? edit

The second paragraph lists two YouTube men as users of Unigine. Would it be appropriate for me to remove this? I'm loosely familiar with these creators but I don't think their using this software is particularly relevant to this page. It doesn't tell a reader anything about Unigine. I agree almost entirely with you, but the links in this paragraph refer to this software. ―Applsdev (talk) (contribs) 09:53, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
