I find it interesting that nothing is mentioned in the article that the USS Louisville (CA 28) arrives at New York on January 22, 1941 with $148,342.212.55 in British gold brought from Simonstown, South Africa, to be deposited in American banks. This isCite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). per the U.S. Navy News Service.
