Change pages title

I recommend that we change the pages title. It has been rightly pointed out that the House of Lords is an un-elected chamber! That said this page is more useful if it shows a comprehensive list of all of the party's representation and that would warrant changing the name of the article to "UK Independence Party representation and election results"Sheffno1gunner (talk) 15:15, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Sources

As it stands, this article is totally unreferenced. The "sources" given in each section are links to other Wikipedia articles and, as we all should know, "Wikipedia is not a reliable source". Some of the articles linked to are themselves not sourced or are inadequately sourced (e.g. link for Scottish Parliament Elections). Some sections do not even claim a source (e.g. Local authorities). All of this page needs to be properly referenced to reliable non-Wikipedia sources as a matter of urgency before someone comes along and recommends its deletion. Highly selective data

This page is so highly selective in what it shows as to be downright misleading, if not dishonest by intent. It lists, for example, county councils in England in which it has seats, unitary authorities in England in which it has seats, and district councils in England in which it has seats. BUT IT DOES NOT LIST THE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS IN WHICH IT HAS NO SEATS, presumably because to list them all would produce massive charts full of zeroes. This incompleteness is dishonest. The same goes for local government in Wales and NI, and Scotland is not even mentioned. Time to take a serious look at the value of this page. Emeraude (talk) 12:53, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

I can see some value in this article, but, yes, it has long been somewhere to celebrate UKIP's successes rather than to encyclopaedically detail their performance. I've made some minor edits to attempt to alleviate the problem, but more is required. Bondegezou (talk) 17:34, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Move the local representatives?

Source 1 has hundreds of local bodies in which UKIP have representation, only about half of which have been listed. Having this long list of data in the middle of the page may be better moved to another title, for example UK Independence Party in local government. See above. I'd prefer to list all the local authorities and put a zero after them. At least that would be complete. Or, just scrap the lot. Do we do this for other parties? Is it encyclopaedic? Is a link to a specialist site sufficient? There's certainly no case for creating another page which, to be honest, is hoing to be largely composed of zeroes. You could try a PROD/AfD, but I doubt it would succeed. WP:OTHERSTUFF (or not OTHERSTUFF in this case) is not generally a successful approach. I don't see much point in lists of zeroes either, but some clear context is appropriate. That seems the best way to approach improving the article to me, that and WP:RS. I agree. I don't see any need to delete this page, but see no point in listing local authorities, but ONLY if they have UKIP reps and ignoring those that don't. That's dishonest. I'd suggest restricting the page to Parliament, European Parliament and the various national assemblies. Emeraude (talk) 18:16, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
