Editing for grammar edit

Hey, I made minor revisions when necessary to make it more grammatically correct.

I'm guessing that you're Russian but know a bit of English but as such don't know the minor grammar things. I got you covered though, don't worry.

Thanks.... didn' know that i had so much mistakes ther :)

Title edit

From what I understand, Sergey Lukyaninko said that the english translation of this book would be called Dusk Watch. Can anyone confirm it? --Strannik 21:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

See Dusk Watch on Amazon.com Belomoeff 13:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've moved the article to Dusk Watch, as there is no need for disambiguation in this case. -GTBacchus(talk) 01:20, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
then again?! - Amazon UK has Twilight Watch http://www.amazon.co.uk/Twilight-Watch-Sergei-Lukyanenko/dp/1401360211 - then again?! the 3rd movie is Dusk Watch?! http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/movies.php?id=2473 and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418205/ it seems possible the US movie will have a novelisation which would obviously be Dusk Watch therefore the translated russian novel could well be Twilight Watch after all! then again could be since the Movie is US the US book will be Dusk Watch while the UK will be Twilight Watch, seems ambiguous enough for disambugation IMO JavaByte 19:19, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't want to sound stupid, but why does an English article about the English translation of a book have a different title to that book and start with the explanation "In English, the book's called Twilight Watch". Where has the title "Dusk Watch" come from? JonStrines (talk) 11:27, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The publishers of the books and the producers of the movies seem intent on using every possible translation of the titles and spelling of character's names than can come up with somewhere on the planet. Which makes the articles a constant stream of "Well, my copy of the book or DVD spells it this way" "corrections" from all over the place. Trust me, just walk away slowly. Fine by me, but I'd suggest the opening paragraph needs a rewrite: what it says at the moment is just "We call this book Dusk Watch for no reason, but the English-speaking world call it Twilight Watch". :) JonStrines (talk) 08:12, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
You will not trap me with your appeals to these things you humans call "logic" and "consistency" sir! I am immune to such things! OK, you're right, will do (unless you get to it first). - Richfife (talk) 18:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Centralizing Character Bios edit

Unless someone protests, I'm going to change the character bios into links to the centralized Characters in the Night Watch Universe page. I've been waffling about doing this, but then I decided to be bold. So, my take on it is:

Pluses

  1. Allows single changes to be made in a centralized way.
  2. Reduces inter article redundancy.

Minuses

  1. Can lead to unnecessary spoilers. If character goes a certain way in a later book, someone looking for info about them in from an earlier book can find out more than they wanted to know.

Thoughts?

Thanks! - Richfife 17:28, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have definite reservations regarding this. I personally went to the page looking for information and found out two definite spoilers, to my dismay. I would advise keeping the pages separate in the interest of avoiding spoilers (which, I would argue, can kill all desire to read a book at all). DestradoZero 18:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Duly noted. I poked around some and decided on a scaled down version of how the problem is handled here: Harry Potter (character). I reorganized the info into chronological order and marked the places where particular novels or movies or spoiled. Does that help? Thanks! - Richfife 19:23, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jesus (Yehoshua) [sic] edit

The page for Yehoshua, previously a Redirect to Joshua, is now a Disambiguation page. In trying to clean up inappropriate internal links pointing there, I'm insufficiently familiar with Dusk Watch to understand the reference on this page and how the name relates to any others. Knowledgeable editors: please note and edit accordingly, using the most suitable internal link. -- Thanks, Deborahjay 15:59, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
