Troy Wolverton is the personal technology columnist for the San Jose Mercury News. The San Jose Mercury News is the primary newspaper in Silicon Valley, which makes its personal tech columnist particularly noteworthy. Wolverton is likely America's most famous and well-respected personal technology columnist after David Pogue of the New York Times and maybe Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal. To use Wikipedia's past practice as a guideline for notability, it's probative that Wolverton is much more notable than the vast majority of persons with Wikipedia pages under the category of American technology writers. Wolverton is interviewed by national television media because of his recognized expertise on technology business issues. For instance, he was recently interviewed by Gwen Ifill of PBS Newshour about Apple: How Will Steve Jobs' Latest Hiatus Affect Apple, Tech World? PBS NewsHour Jan. 18, 2011.
