This article states that this type of mast was used form the 1930s and later. However the article about HMS Dreadnought (1906) makes mention of such a mast and judging from the images on the preceding Lord Nelson-class battleships article they used them to. The concept long predates even the Lord Nelsons; the French Terrible-class ironclads used them, and they were built some 30 years before the Lord Nelsons. The article is not particularly comprehensive, to put it mildly. Parsecboy (talk) 11:20, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
