reference to the USS Enterprise-E

When Sisko mentions that the Defiant was in front of the Enterprise, Dulmur tells him to be more specific, as there had been five. Lucsly corrects him and says there had been six (NX-01 was never in Federation service). the first reference to the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E), which would appear in the film Star Trek: First Contact after the episode aired. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KlingonWarrior09 (talk • contribs)

Wasn't this a 30th anniversary episode, along with Voyager's Flashback? Shouldn't there be a mention of this? David 13:09, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Tribble as toupee joke

Offhand, I'd say that there's a strong possibility that the booby-trapped tribble intended to kill Kirk doubled as a writer's and Trekker's inside joke, namely that of being an impersonation of William Shatner's famous hairpiece. While I suspect that most in an official capacity or who take the Star Trek universe very seriously would be willing to admit such a possibility, the joke does seem pretty clear and straightforward. 76.190.193.234 (talk) 07:57, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

• “Original tribbles writer David Gerrold”... referencing the episode, you should be capitalizing Tribbles, perhaps even quotation marks around the singular word?

• Is it possible to briefly mention that Jonathan West wasn't an "out of the blue" choice, that he was their director of photography, and had directed 1 TNG and 2 DS9 episodes before that? Even just the DP bit.

• Deidre L. Imershein's role as a crew member is mentioned in the infobox, but should be reiterated in this section. First time reading through, I thought that she might have been playing a pleasure girl again, on the space station.

Until I can get back to you with the rest of the review, Checklinks is pointing out an error with the Emmys site. Klingon makeup/whatever

I rewrote the bit in the plot section that covers the difference in Klingon makeup, and kept (for now) the references to the Enterprise episodes, even though it might be a little bit more the domain of a fan site. Either way, there must be more that can be put in the makeup section on this - currently, there's a quote box that says:

"We do not discuss it with outsiders"

Worf, commenting on his different physical appearance to The Original Series Klingons. Changes in make-up between the two series were referred to obliquely, as above, but not directly explained within the episode.

When I see a quote box like that, in a good article I expect to find a paragraph in the same section expanding on it, and there is none here. Memory Alpha has this, which explains the background for the quote in this episode quite well. Not all of that belongs here, of course, but just the quote box does not seem like quite enough. Plot

Did the crew travel back in time *to* avoid the assassination of Cpt. Kirk, or did they travel back in time *and* avoided the assassination of Cpt. Kirk? Better the latter, given that they were forced to go back in time by the villain of the piece in order for him to kill Kirk, which they managed to avoid. At first they even had no idea what had happened and that they had gone back in time. So "and", not "to" ;)
