Talk:Toronto Fire Services

Untitled edit

This page is listed under the "Emergency Services Equipment Makers" category....this makes no sense whatsoever

I'd like to clean up this page by simplifying it.

I'd like to delete the area, "A list of fire stations with their own logos or motos" under the Histroy Section, as well as the Equipment, Notable Fires, and Miscellaneous Sections. I only want to do this to really simplify the page and give the most basic information on the Toronto Fire Department that is expected from an encyclopedia (if people want to know the equipment they use, they can check with the Fire Services website themselves). Even the articles for FDNY and LAFD aren't as complicated as this, and those Fire Services are 10 times as big as Toronto's.

Also, I would like to clean up the External Links section, but I don't really know many "fire related" websites. I'm not some fire department fan or anything like that... I just watched Ladder 49 and thought I'd google the Toronto Fire Services, which lead me to the Wikipedia article for it. And well... come on now, that was some terrible writing there. So, I thought I'd do some of those little edits, but I don't want to do any of those major edits unless others agree..

Well I don't know exactly how many people will respond to this. But if I don't hear much more in a week, I'm going to go ahead with the changes.

Rapid Attack Vehicle - (Van335) edit

Is this TFS' equivalent to a brush engine (if there is any)? Strange they would use a van for this purpose. Does this need corrected (I actually had a slightly different question, but got pulled away and forgot it)? Also, there are two apparatus lists, and they appear somewhat different. Can anybody in the know correctthis? Seems redundant, but I don't want to make rash mods that somebody will chastize me for. YellowAries2010 (talk) 03:15, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

from what I know, the van is not TFS's equivalent to a brush engine, it is just a response unit for the Toronto Islands. Yes, there does seem to be two apparatus glossaries for some reason. HillelFrei• talk • 12:25, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
