Needs an Early Life Section
editThese sections help to round out an article about a person.
Cleanup Needed
editI just found the page and reverted some additions that were clearly just attacks. However, this page appears to be wholly taken from a bio, and not encyclopedic. If anyone wants to knock some of the promotional tone out of it, go right ahead. I'll chip in when I get time. Dayewalker (talk) 05:53, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. I returned two of the removed items, but included sources so they conform to WP standards. Although the two returned parts are negative, they are well-documented with solid sources. Regrettably, there were a lot of source options to choose from. I'd think that a little research from someone could turn up some counterbalancing positive information because English is so well-known. Transmissionelement (talk) 20:32, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I don't even think he qualifies as a chef. His constant reliance on phrases such as "aroma" and "I'm going in" or "I'm going in chef style" which means he's making the food unsafe to eat show that he really doesn't know his way around a kitchen. Where did he get his training? No idea? okay... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.122 (talk) 05:24, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Its not fair to say he doesn't qualify as a chef, But he does not qualify, in my opinion, to have a Wikipedia page. His importance in American culture is minimal. Because all his ventures, both personal and professional, don't have any longevity. His marriage and subsequent relationship didnt last long. His signature restaurants didnt last long. His PBS shows didnt last long. Rocco DiSpirito is another idiot that jumps around. I have more respect for Ming Tsai! I have more respect for Gordon Ramsay. But regarding the prior comment, his choice of vocabulary makes food unsafe? What is the prior commenter's point? No idea? okay Marc S.206.192.35.125 (talk) 14:46, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Health Department Issues
editI'm sure some would see the inclusion of the Health citations as adverse, but they were widely reported in many reliable sources and they were notable. Just because they are negative does not mean that a simple deletion of these items is appropriate. Also, just because the problem was resolved in 2009 does not mean that it should now be removed. TV Shows
editChef English also had 2 major TV shows plus numerous appearances on various programs. This article is quite incomplete without mentioning the TV programmes as well as some of the true to life negative press / criticism he has received. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rozzz-L (talk • contribs) 21:00, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Closed restaurants
editI am removing from the article the closed restaurants. It seems senseless in an encyclopedia to list defunct establishments. Here's a source for the closings. https://vegas.eater.com/2017/12/26/16818394/todd-english-p-u-b-out-olives-at-bellagio-next Pjefts (talk) 15:58, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
