- But he did start out as a one-finger pianist. I guess I'll have to find my source for it, but it wasn't put in as a joke, it was put in because it was a phase in his career. Ortolan88 17:14, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Origin of nickname edit
The only online source I can find is this SPS blog which says: "In 1938 he gigged with a group called 'The Four Dots', and began going by 'Tiny', a nickname he acquired as a child growing up in Newport News." But this doesn't look like a reliable source, claiming as it does that "Tiny Grimes is the inventor of Rock and Roll". Are there any better sources? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:23, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
