I tweaked the opening sentence and removed the "After 1969" section, giving this TL clearer start/end parameters. If TL is to be expanded (forwards or backwards) please don’t leave gaps spanning decades or include vague open-ended section headings. Cheers. Drdpw (talk) 15:36, 17 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

The page was put up at the time that the 1954-1968 Civil Rights Movement had its own page. That page was changed to read 'Civil rights movement' and lost the long-term correct proper name of that historical movement. This timeline specifically refers to that movement, and should actually be changed to the proper name 'Timeline of the 1954-1968 Civil Rights Movement', although due to the RM would be oddly lower-cased. Chronological scope of this article edit

Lede says "the 1947 to 1968 civil rights movement", however the civil rights movement page it links to says this particular Movement was from 1954-1968. Civil rights movement (1896–1954) is also a thing, so it seems logical to remove the 1947-1953 section of this article per WP:SYNTHESIS, to be added to a future article of "timeline of the 1896-1954 civil rights movement" MarshallKe (talk) 12:51, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
