Restore deleted content edit

In December 2013 several so-called "insignificant" items were deleted ([1] and [2]) from the Timeline of Portland. They should be restored because although they may not be major, citywide events, they contribute to the city's history. M2545 (talk) 14:03, 11 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

1885 cookbook edit

This cookbook (cf Jacqueline Williams (1999). "Much Depends on Dinner: Pacific Northwest Foodways, 1843-1900". Pacific Northwest Quarterly. 90. JSTOR 40492465.) was compiled by a local church group and published in Portland. According to the 1999 Williams article, it figured in the development of life in the city. Until relatively recently the field of history has traditionally ignored food, but not so much now. Events relevant to foodways are part of the city's history. -- M2545 (talk) 12:45, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Criteria? edit

Are there any particular criteria for inclusion here? E.g. why do a couple of members of Congress merit mention, but not others? Why mention the Farmers' Market and omit the (I would think much more notable) Portland Saturday Market? - Jmabel | Talk 20:32, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
