Jesus this is badly written. I still have no clear idea of what the sequence of events are. An illiterate monkey could do a better job...

Reception section edit

I didn't write those two sentences above. I don't know who did since it's not signed.

The paragraph about all the critics who "praised" Megan Fox's performance didn't hold up. Bloody Disgusting for example only called her "a capable action lead" https://bloody-disgusting.com/reviews/3671640/review-till-death-marries-propulsive-energy-home-invasion-thriller/ and Roger Moore in Movie Nation actually gave her a bad review ("Fox has a hard time sustaining the terror her character should feel, or even faking (consistently) the uncontrollable shivers and shakes someone subjected to extreme cold, barefoot and underclothed in the ice and snow would experience. That comes and goes.") https://rogersmovienation.com/2021/06/29/movie-review-a-unicorn-of-a-thriller-a-good-megan-fox-movie-till-death/. And couple of the critics were non-notable, so it was like that paragraph was by a die hard Megan Fox fan. The Horror, The Horror (talk) 20:12, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@The Horror, The Horror:Dalenogare was linked to pt.Wikipedia, but someone removed it. I don't know if interwikis like this are allowed here, but some Wikis are. All the other critics that were listed are on Rotten Tomatoes, aren't they notable?Theys York (talk) 02:13, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
About Roger Moore and Bloody Disgusting you are right. I opened "All Critics" on Rotten Tomatoes and read what they were talking about, and I read that they are (generally) praising Megan Fox. So, I copied and pasted and edited the summary, and that's where Roger Moore and Bloody Disgusting came in (and shouldn't).Theys York (talk) 02:30, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
All critics listed on Rotten Tomatoes pass with criteria by them (see here), so they are a notorious source.Theys York (talk)
Theys York, thank you for talking with me! I'm still new and it's cool to talk with other horror fans on Wikipedia! I'm still learning, so maybe you're right, that we can include critic who are on Rotten Tomatoes, but I've read that we shouldn't include "non notable" and that "non notable" means they don't have a Wikipedia page. If I'm wrong, please fix! If you do fix, please keep the links I put in so that wehave citations to the reviews themselves, if that's all right. When there are many critics to choose from it is better if you can pick from the most notable critics, such as those from established sources like newspapers. (A reviewer that has a Wikipedia page is probably more notable than a reviewer that does not.) Try to use reliable sources. WP:RS.
It is not generally a good idea to include Portuguese critics unless the film has some special Portuguese connection. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Film#Critical_reception "Reviews from the film's country of origin are recommended". -- 109.76.204.195 (talk) 23:44, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK. Generally I don't use reviews in Portuguese here, but the relevance I saw of using a reviewer in this article is due to the fact that he is part of (CCA and voting for Spirit Awards) and he praised Megan Fox. At the end of the review he mentioned Midnight in the Switchgrass, so I put the review there too.Theys York (talk) 01:15, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm not going to quibble if the critic actually has something interesting to say that hasn't already been said, but it is better if you can use the bigger better known critics. -- 109.76.204.195 (talk) 01:33, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok, but my answer was at this point in your comment:"It is not generally a good idea to include Portuguese critics unless the film has some special Portuguese connection."Theys York (talk) 01:41, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I should have been clearer, I was trying to explaining the rules in general, but to also explain that personally I would use a local critic if I thought they said something particularly interesting.
Someone else might still come along and delete it anyway because they do not think the critic is important enough or they don't like the newspaper that published the review. (See WP:RSPS some major newspapers are banned and there's no exemption for their film reviews). -- 109.76.204.195 (talk) 01:47, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
