Suggestion: Split Part 1 from 2&3? edit

I know in the past even though the season finales have aired on diffrent days they were kept as the same article. But this time since this finale is focusssing on diffrent characters should we split them? Pat 1 would be and Oceanic Six eposide and have 2&3 as Claire/Sawyer. Even if one of the 2 hours of part 2-3 is Claire and the other hour is Sawyer they would still be together because they aired on the same day. What do you think? 65.95.199.106 (talk) 17:12, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Parts 2 & 3 are actually Oceanic Six-centric; however, I will be in favour of spliting the article regardless if the production section is long enough once it is written. –thedemonhog talkedits 17:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Really? The season 4 page says it's Claire/Sawyer. Vandals? Yeah I ageree with spliting. 65.95.199.106 (talk) 17:29, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please reply with colons. And yes, vandals attacked. –thedemonhog talkedits 17:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fixed two posts. Removed whispering that Sawyer said to Kate, Removed reference to the Asian Tsunami. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kozoku (talkcontribs) 10:16, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Locke in the coffin???? edit

Why does the article say that? It was Charles Widmore. Locke is a lot skinnyer, has many scars, an odd eye, etc. Skeletal_SLJCOAAATR_Soul_Striker_of_Vengence (talk) 23:57, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're kidding, right? –thedemonhog talkedits 00:20, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
The guy in the coffin is locke, but we shouldn't say it in the plot summary, it totally ruins it for anyone who hasn't seen it. please remove it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.191.171.208 (talk) 03:32, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
If they haven't seen it, why are they reading the plot synopsis? See WP:SPOILER. –thedemonhog talkedits 05:49, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind. The other night when it aired, it looked exactly like Charles. Very Surprised that they'd kill Locke though...And yes, it should stay in the article. Skeletal_SLJCOAAATR_Soul_Striker_of_Vengence (talk) 15:13, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

What happened to the other people on the freighter edit

Does anybody know for sure? The article says that they died when the ship exploded(a la 3rd Class on the Titanic), but Im not sure that's true-the episode shows them running around in life jackets, but not what happens in the end. No sailing away or jumping overboard. So what happened to them? — 216.252.88.101 23:55, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This has apparently been fixed. The text now has "apparently killing" instead. — Val42 (talk) 03:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's a slim chance that people like:

  • Jin
  • Hendricks
  • Jeff
  • Backround 815 Survivors (I know they're names, but, i'm too lazy to post them all.)
  • Other Kahanna Crew

could've survived but, it seems VERY unlikely. Micheal's DEFIANTLY dead though. Sorry to bust any bubbles... Skeletal_SLJCOAAATR (talk) 05:34, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just an observation; when Kate encounters Claire in Aaron's bedroom, Claire tells Kate not to bring "him" back to the Island. The line in the current description, "Kate has a dream in which Claire tells her not to bring Aaron back to the island," may not be accurate. It isn't clear who Claire is referring to, and Kate abruptly awakens from the dream before any further explanation can be offered. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.197.83 (talk) 14:37, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

This article is in decent shape, but it needs more work before it becomes a Good Article.

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
    Well done.
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
In Parts 2 & 3, paragraph 4, "The Shape of Things to Come" needs to be in quotation marks, instead of being italicized, per here. In the Production section, "Good Morning America" needs to be italicized, since its a show. Same section, "2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike" should be written complete.
    Check. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:34, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
    C. It contains no original research:
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
If the statements above can be answered, I will pass the article. Good luck with improving this article! Also, contact me if the above statements are answered

Thank you to thedemonhog for getting the stuff I left at the talk page, because I have gone off and placed the article as GA. Congrats. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:34, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's improbable to assume that Michael is dead. He was "saved" from death multiple times in order to serve the island. Plot history would suggest people can only die when they are done serving the purpose of the island - and death is far from final. With Jack's dad raised from the dead, Locke himself may be resurrected upon the probable return to the island. Baron cheese (talk) 13:19, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pictures edit

Hey Losties! This page is quite bland and boring :-( and I think a picture will really spice it up. I was looking around for some pictures, but all of them have already been used on other articles. Any ideas? I think a picture of Sun would be great; she was excellent in this ep. Maybe a fair-use pic? Corn.u.co.pia ŢĐЌ Disc.us.sion 06:35, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would say that we definitely need a picture of the "Frozen Donkey Wheel" and maybe one of the freighter exploding. –thedemonhog talkedits 06:54, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ooooh, totally agree. I also think we should have one for the reception section, though a free picture could be found, I guess. Corn.u.co.pia ŢĐЌ Disc.us.sion 07:00, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Next episode... edit

its been said that the 1st episode of series 5 is to be called "Because You Left" so would some one change the "to be announced" thingy in the box pleases :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.99.165.1 (talk) 17:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The policy for Lost is to not add episode titles until they are confirmed by either ABC or someone who works on the show. The title was "leaked" by Entertainment Weekly, which doesn't qualify. Jackieboy87 (talk) 17:50, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The recap version edit

I didn't watch it but that recap version the other night looked interesting. Lots of info to get back into things. Anyone who watched it think it's worth mentioning on this page?Kansaikiwi (talk) 00:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

By recap version, you mean "enhanced" version meaning the rebroadcast with on-screen facts about the story. Unfortunately, the texts are written by the Met|Hodder company and not someone involved with some form of the main show's production, so there is no information worth mentioning. It is designed to keep casual and occasional viewers up-to-date with the series and tells you stuff like "This is Jack. He was a spinal surgeon who became leader of the survivors. In the future, he is a drug addict, as we saw in last season's finale titled 'Through the Looking Glass' ", as opposed to how the writers came up with a scene or why it was filmed in a certain way. –thedemonhog talkedits 03:50, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dharmachakra/Frozen Donkey Wheel edit

I knew that thing reminded me of something common and household; access this file: http://moz.sillydog.org/archives/pic/ns9_splash.jpg It also is reminiscent of Ilmarinen's Sampo, provided one uses a bit of imagination. -- anonymous

Alternate versions edit

Anyone else notice that the version of Part One on the DVD set is not the same as the original broadcast version? The differences I've spotted are during the Oceanic Six press conference scene. The DVD adds Sayid's comments about not having any intention of returning to Iraq and additional explanation by Jack during the fake crash story, identifying Boone, Charlie and Libby as having survived the crash and died subsequently. The DVD version omits a brief exchange between the ginger reporter and Hurley (she comments that the six survivors look healthy, Hurley responds "Is that directed at me, dude?") that appeared just before she asks him about the money. I first noticed the new material had been added when I watched the ABC "enhanced" rerun broadcast of this episode they showed in the run-up to the season five premiere. (My reaction when they came to the Boone/Charlie/Libby part was something along the lines of "Wait, what?!?" if I remember corrrectly.) I compared that with my recording of the first broadcast and noticed that the Hurley dialogue was missing. I was hoping (and sort of assuming) that on the DVD they would include all the dialogue from both versions, but I finally got around to watching this episode on DVD yesterday afternoon and it's just the second version, as far as I can tell. I think I remember the promos for the one-week-later "enhanced" version from May 2008 promising unseen footage; was this what they were talking about? (I missed that broadcast.) Has anyone noticed any other differences? Is any of this worth mentioning in the article? (Naturally, I have no supporting documentation whatsoever, but it's all true, honest!) Does anyone even care?

Your friend, Augustus Chip (talk) 07:10, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

ABC promoted the enhanced version of the episode as being "extended", but all they did was change the press conference in the ways you mentioned. I don't think it is terribly notable that they changed the few things they did, but if you can find some sources talking about it then feel free to add a blurb. --Jackieboy87 (talk · contribs) 14:40, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Policy discussion in progress edit

There is a policy discussion in progress at the Manual of Style which affects this page, suggesting that the capitalization of "like" should be removed. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. — LlywelynII 14:31, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

There's No Place Like HomeThere's No Place Like Home (Lost) – Leaving aside the fact that this saying is very recognizable with the film The Wizard of Oz (which is also the first google result), there is another episode with this title which has an article There's No Place Like Home (Once Upon a Time). The phrase should be redirected to the dab page No Place Like Home. Gonnym (talk) 11:21, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
