I just saw this film; it was one cinematic cliché after another. I never read the novel but the frame story of the film was set in 2007 (give or take a few years) and Hagar was supposedly born a few years after World War I. They have Marvin registering as a cadet and going off to Cyprus in the 1960s. I suppose they took the novel and pushed everything forward 40 years? It did not work at all. In any event, someone should put some detail into this article about differences between the novel and the film. --Mathew5000 19:45, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
