"Resistance" section edit

I made some changes to the section of the article dealing with the band's fanbase, but I'm still not happy with it, and I'm not sure it's relevant at this point. Would anyone object to its removal?

Information on live performances edit

The Protomen are known to perform live. The article as is states they are part of the music scene and tells where they are from, but does not mention about their performances. This may be an area to expand on in this article. alby13 (talk) 14:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Expand discography edit

It may be a good idea to expand on the albums listed under discography either by adding more information under the section, or by creating a separate page if there is enough information to do so. alby13 (talk) 14:06, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its about time edit

Its about time this band gets an article and get it to stay a while —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.142.212.3 (talk) 21:28, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is not a forum for general discussion of The Protomen. Please limit discussion to improvement of this article. alby13 (talk) 11:55, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Remix album? edit

They (or some other group; I'm not sure) made an 8-bit remix of their first album: http://www.zambooie.com/stores/Detail.tpl?cart=122868844713705633&sku=PROTOCD101&st_id=236 Should this be mentioned, do you think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.57.67.234 (talk) 22:31, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The remix album was created by Makeup and Vanity Set. I'm not sure what the Wikipedia protocol is on this -- the remix album is relevant to their discography, but technically, they didn't make it -- it's a set of covers made by M&VS. Perhaps a more experienced Wikipedian could help here: what is the appropriate formatting for such a situation? DestructiveDreaming (talk) 23:32, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

It should definitely be mentioned, but like DestructiveDreaming, I'm unsure of the protocol. Kabukiman (talk) 13:52, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
This should not be added under The Protomen's discography, as they did not make it themselves, but if it is notable then it should be added to the article somewhere. Find a place or create a place that makes sense. Remember, Be Bold. alby13 (talk) 21:45, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

History as told by the protomen edit

the "state of volunteers" is Tennessee, where the protomen are from and most often perform —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.229.219.203 (talk) 04:59, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tone edit

With all respect to wikipedia protocol, the tone of this article does not adequately communicate how insanely awesome this band is. General tone adjustments and a "fuck you" to the man (that is you Jimbo whales) would more correctly communicate the nature of their work.

--68.217.125.112 (talk) 15:55, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. Wikipedia is not here to communicate awesomeness or even the nature of their work. It’s just the facts and nothing but. However... find us a quotable source that explains their awesomeness or the nature of their work and we can bang in a quote and meet both protocol and awesomeness criteria. massive page revisions edit

The original page was hopelessly out of date and contained a lot of offtopic and unnecessary material. Revised heavily in order to try and fix tone and provide correct and relevant information. Can someone please add a photo of the band? Preferably http://www.protomen.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/protomen.jpg ? 67.100.122.113 (talk) 18:31, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added photo to commons, added to page. Caption could use some work. Neo Qwerty (talk) 23:39, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Short Film edit

Recently, they've announced a short film focusing on Joe's part of Act II. The trailer can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o4CO9reBgs The article about it on their site is here: http://www.protomen.com/news/2016/09/06/light-up-the-night-trailer/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C56B:29B0:B426:661B:D760:139B (talk) 23:46, 21 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Time to move on? edit

It's been almost 6 years since the planned next album, according to this article. Time to state that they're no longer active, or is the rule for "band is no longer active" even longer? 85.220.124.149 (talk) 04:03, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
