Article title... could/should it be modified?

Hello Necrothesp and Maclean,

I want to thank you for starting-up this article and its "talk page", because I had wanted to do this myself after watching the two episodes on BBC2, but I'm still relatively new and haven't attempted such yet.

May I take you both to task on one point, namely the inclusion of the term "miniseries" in the article title, which is, in my opinion, inaccurate.

I look forward to your replies.

Titanic (disambiguation) illustrates a similar disambiguation scheme. The disambiguation should be as simple as possible and follow WP naming conventions (Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television) or Wikipedia:Naming conventions (films)). Your suggestion has too many disambiguations, we should aim for one or two words. According to those naming convention guidelines, our options depend on the medium, is it a film or a miniseries? Looking at TV miniseries, it looks like miniseries is correct, though I think a case can be made that it could be called a "film" (just one made of TV). I think our options are (TV miniseries) or (2012 film), though I can see (miniseries) and (TV serial) is also used in other articles. maclean (talk) 21:39, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I understand. For my part, I would prefer 2012 film, as I find miniseries misleading in this instance. After all, it would seem that it is to be aired in the US all on one night. Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 22:01, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm British as well, and as the creator of this article and its title I think miniseries is the correct description, certainly under Wikipedia conventions. It's certainly not a film in its country of origin, as films are invariably a single part, not two parts. -- Necrothesp (talk) 22:24, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

However, Wikipedia practice is to describe films and TV series in the form in which they were originally shown in their country of origin, which was as a two-part series, which is commonly referred to (now also in Britain too) as a miniseries. -- Necrothesp (talk) 22:42, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
