Oboist edit
I believe that David Theodore was the principal oboist during the London Philharmonic Orchestra's recording of the soundtrack and added that on the page. Can anyone confirm or contradict this? He's a lucky guy, as in his orchestra he got to record many well-known oboe tunes (e.g. in Seal's Kiss from a Rose). However, as the "Gabriel's oboe" player he only seems referred to as "anonymous oboist".
As an aside, the sentence "Not as over-the-top as his well-known spaghetti Western scores, The Mission shows Morricone at his dramatic best." seems hillariously POV, but I suppose in articles on music this is hard to resist. Still, probably should be toned down. -Afasmit
- Correction: according to Burges and Haynes in "The Oboe" ISBN 0-300-09317-9 the oboist was Joan Whiting, also of the London Philharmonic at the time. Afasmit 08:10, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
