Image:Marvelettes-20thcenmasters.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. There is no album image now!

Beechwood 4-5789

Are we sure that Beechwood 4-5789 was the most popular pre-Rick Springfield number in America? (Not sure of the metric by which this would have been judged, but Pennsylvania 6-5000 was a far more popular song.) Is there a citation for this? Chicobangs (talk) 14:14, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

POV

Following on from the comments above, this article is currently short of citations, and stuffed with opinionated fancruft,; for example - " As the first popular Motown act, they carried a lot of responsibility during this time."

More references please, and less of the peacock wording. This is an encyclopedia - not a fan site.

• Also, there is inconsistant usage of the word "The" before the group's name: the article title clearly uses the word and therefore we are lead to believe that it is part of the group's name. However, the very next sentences use lowercase "the". Normally the first word in a group's name is capitalised whether or not it is a definate or indefinate article (the, a, an), a conjunction (but, of, and, with) or whatnot. Anyone able to source "The Marvelettes" vs "Marvelettes"? In doing so, you'll probably find a ton of reliable sources to counterbalance the POV metioned above! --Jubilee♫clipman 21:08, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

I have done all I can to correct the information in this article in an unbaised way. It should now be accurate.

Individual Marvelette articles?

Are any of the members of the Marvelettes notable enough for their own articles?

Gladys Horton is the only one that comes close, IMO, but I don't see where any of them did anything notable outside of the group, so I'd support redirecting all the articles back here. —C.Fred (talk) 15:23, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
