Talk:The Magicians' Guild

Great book, but atrociously proofread. Not just minor stuff like comma pairs missed out where they might have been nice; things like apostrophes in various versions of "its", or confusing "your" and "you're". Ick. Rawling4851 00:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:TrudiCanavan TheMagiciansGuild.jpg edit

Image:TrudiCanavan TheMagiciansGuild.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Confusing details in Infobox edit

Currently the infobox states:

"Publisher Orbit Books" [a UK-only imprint before 2006]
"Publication date 2001" [which corresponds to the work's © date]
"ISBN - 1-84149-313-9 (first edition, paperback)"

However, the verso of my 2009, 15th printing of the 2004 Orbit paperback edition, which bears this same ISBN, states "First published in Great Britain by Orbit 2004 / Reprinted 2004 (four times) . . . 2009 (twice)"

Presumably the 2001 first edition was not, therefore, published in Great Britain, and surely could not have had the same ISBN as a subsequent 2004 first British edition. So where and by whom was the 2001 first (World) edition published? As someone who obsessively catalogues my book collection, I'd really like to know :-). {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.200.136.194 (talk) 08:10, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
