How can a movie produced by a French Animation Studio (Action Synthese) be British? 188.11.64.101 (talk) 12:57, 24 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

IMBDB confusion edit

Something odd is going on here. This article lists Doogal as the US title of this movie, yet IMDB lists the US title as Sprung! The Magic Roundabout and Doogal as a separate move. It even lists different plot summaries. Anyone? DJ Clayworth 16:31, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

IMDb really sucks.. I guess they think that the movie was modified enough for the US to have its own article. -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 18:13, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, it turns out that the French title is Sprung! The Magic Roundabout in English. -- getcrunk ? 16:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
It appears that the movie had a limited release in the US as Sprung! The Magic Roundabout featuring the original UK voice cast (see Amazon.com[1]) but was then picked up by the Weinstein Co. and re-dubbed with a US cast and re-released as Doogal. Because the UK dub is available on NTSC DVD in the US it seems fair to list this alternative title prominently.Mrstonky 02:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

no confusion, there is a total different version for the movie is the US : Doogal. the article explains that Weinstein re voiced, re edited and even re wrote the story in this new version of doogal The Magic roundabout is the European & original version. so IMDB is right to created two versions : The magic roundabout & doogal. This is two differents versions. In the us the European version start to be accessible, but in dvd only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makhno13 (talkcontribs) 15:44, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Moose edit

The article lists Kevin Smith as playing Moose, but with no British or French analogue. Having not seen either version, I just want to know, is this a new character added specifically for it or what? MrWeeble Talk Brit tv 12:02, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The American producers added new characters, according to the promo videos I saw on iTunes. I haven't seen the movies yet though (I'm trying to rent both versions) -- getcrunk ? 16:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
In the UK version, the Moose does not speak, he's just a guiding force. Apparently Americans are not intelligent enough to figure that out. --Snicker 21:18, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Off topic, but neither do the skeletons. This arguably made them creepier in the USA version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.153.9.10 (talk) 19:50, 14 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quotes edit

What does the phrase "There is no spoon!" have to do with the Matrix? Scorpionman 15:29, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Judging from the lack of reply, I'll assume that is has nothing to do with the Matrix and that it was just vandalism, and that it should be removed. Scorpionman 16:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It indeed has nothing to do with that film. Ratso 19:34, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, it IS a reference to The Matrix. At one point in the film Neo asks a child able to bend spoons how he does it. The child responds that the trick is to realize that there is no spoon. BarqSimpson 08:39, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wait, what? edit

"The Word "DOOGLE" is a popular slang term in urban American youth. It's equivalent to other slang terms as Dog, Dude, partner, or Homeboy." Really? 59.121.194.162 07:55, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It was likely vandalism, or from someone not from NA.

Sequel? edit

It said on the News section of this movie's IMDB website that there might be a sequel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by StarLegacy (talkcontribs) 03:22, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Article for Doogal? edit

I don't expect many to agree with me here, but I think there should be a seperate article for Doogal. Yes, the plot is the same but you could also add more about critical reception and differences between the UK and USA versions. Just a thought. 109.153.9.10 (talk) 19:47, 14 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'll do it myself. How do you copy and paste? 109.153.9.10 (talk) 22:35, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Doogal" Stinker Awards edit

I don't know if this needs to be done, but for the section in regards to the U.S. release of this film, there should be a table that lists all the awards and nominations it received in the 2006 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards. Yes, it won "Worst Supporting Actor" and "Worst Animated Film", but it was also nominated for "Foulest Family Film". Basically, it'd be something like:

Year Award Category Recipients and nominees Results
2007 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards Worst Supporting Actor Chevy Chase Won
Foulest Family Film Doogal (TWC) Nominated
Worst Animated Film Won

Something like that. --The-Psychid (talk) 04:15, 14 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fake edits edit

Hi, unfortunately there have been persistent disruptive fake edits to the article giving details and cast of a Canadian dub of the film when there was no Canadian dub just the UK, French and USA versions. Here is an example of the fake edits being reverted here, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 20:35, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
