The lyrics were carefully copied from the published song. True, substantially the same as Kipling's poem, as it should be, but Elgar's use differs in small details. This entry is to show the version of the poem Elgar used in "The Fringes of the Fleet". P0mbal (talk) 16:53, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for making me stop and think about this. This entry is one of a series about the songs of the English composer Elgar (1857-1934). The song was published in 1917. The author of the lyrics. Rudyard Kipling, died in 1936, over 70 years ago, therefore no copyright problem. P0mbal (talk) 22:02, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
