Lake Powell edit

Surely the astronaut at Lake Powell scene is a homage to the scene in Planet of the Apes, with Charlton Heston and two other astronauts crashing their spacecraft into an alien lake, filmed at Lake Powell? 86.159.192.111 (talk) 14:08, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

If it is, then it'll probably be mentioned in a reliable source. All this article can do is cite that reliable source. DonQuixote (talk) 16:57, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Telecast edit

From the article:

"1.3 million viewers saw "The Impossible Astronaut" on BBC America, making it the highest rated telecast in the history of the channel. It was reportedly up by 71,000 from "The Eleventh Hour"."

What on earth is a telecast? And given the words obscurity, if it means as I suspect broadcast, can the sentence be re-written to be more accessible to all? Jasonfward (talk) 18:13, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Continuity edit

It's pointed out in the continuity section that River mentions that one day she will meet the Doctor and he will not know her. Thing is, this has already happened (Silence in the Library). Not only that, it will never occur while she's meeting the 11th Doctor, so why is this speech included in this episode at all? Certainly the events here could be taking place before Library in River's timeline, but since the viewers know what happens in this meeting (and it doesn't kill her), is this perhaps an error in the script (strange since Moffatt wrote both this and Library) which could be mentioned? --Tuzapicabit (talk) 09:34, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's not an error in the script. From River's perspective it's a real fear that she has. DonQuixote (talk) 15:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Actually, on thinking about it, I realised that yes, it's just from the character's point of view, not a cryptic reference that the viewer will later understand. There's so many of them, particularly from River that it threw me to hear her say something we already know.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 07:31, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regeneration edit

As we have now seen the 2013 Christmas Episode, with Eleven saying that he has no more regenerations left, because of the War Doctor and the Tenth regenerating but "keeping the same face", can we find some sort of explanation of why the regeneration was triggered, here? Surely, he had used up all the regenerations, so how could he even start to regenerate? It was established in the 2013 Christmas episode that once he reached his last one, he would just get old and die. If we can't find some sort of explanation, could we flag it up as an open question? Alucard (Dr.) | Talk 15:24, 26 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

It was a robot. See The Wedding of River Song. DonQuixote (talk) 15:27, 26 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, just got to that same conclusion by re-reading the plot. Thanks! Makes it a lot less inconsistent... Alucard (Dr.) | Talk 15:29, 26 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
