Lennon's Isolation vs. The Gunner's Dream edit

If my memory is correct TGD was an attempt to write a Lennon inspired song (from his primal scream period). I'm trying to find some references but I'm 99% sure that RW said that this song was a tribute to Lennon's songwriting as well, especially to Isolation from the JL/Plastic Ono Band album. I'm sure you're right. Musically, it's obvious -- G, Gaug, G6 -- the same as "Isolation", except "Isolation" was in D -- D, Daug, D6 -- both songs done in that simple, stately procession.

Likewise, the main guitar riff of The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking -- that 3/4 strumming of A minor, with the hammering-on of E on the D string -- that comes from Lennon's "Working Class Hero". (Which frees David Gilmour from any accusation that his "Near the End" was ripping off Waters.)
