Hello, I'll be conducting this article's GA review. Here is how it stands against the criteria:

  1. Well-written: A few minor fixes are needed (see below).
  2. Factually accurate and verifiable: Yes.
  3. Broad in its coverage: Yes.
  4. Neutral: Yes.
  5. Stable: Yes.
  6. Illustrated, if possible, by images: Yes, and all images are properly tagged and include rationale.

Prose

  • The story was based partially on Hynes' own experiences after his mother died and his marriage ended, when he took a road trip of his own and wrote "different things", some of which came together in the script for The Go-Getter. Somewhat long and confusing. How about, "The story was based partially on Hynees' own experiences. After his mother died, and his marriage ended, he took a road trip..." etc.
  • Its run lasted only three days, and it grossed only US$11,931. Repetition of "only".
  • In Reno, they take ecstasy and almost have sex before Mercer resumes his search for Arlen and finds himself on the set of a pornographic film, where the director (Julio Oscar Mechoso) tells him that Arlen left to work at a pet store in Sacramento, California. This needs to be cut into two sentences, perhaps after "his search for Arlen"? "Later he finds himself on the set..."?
  • Mercer finally meets Arlen (Jsu Garcia) at the hotel in Ensenada, but tackles him to the ground when Arlen immediately assumes that Mercer is looking for money. I'm not sure who is tackling whom, here.
  • Writer-director Martin Hynes calls the film "very uncomfortably autobiographical". I'm not a fan of using the present tense to describe things one has previously said, especially when the rest of the paragraph is in past tense. "Hynes called the film"? "referred to the film as"?
  • Pucci was in San Francisco on a press tour and Hynes flew from Los Angeles to have lunch together. "together" doesn't fit here, how about "with him"?
  • He made a deliberate attempt to cast Deschanel and Malone against their previous types: Deschanel as a "glamour girl" and Malone as a sexually mature woman. This could be a little clearer, as it's not explicitly said that Deschanel or Malone's previous types were.
  • When searching for music for the film... "for the film's music".
  • Singer and guitarist M. Ward opened the show as a supporting act, and Hynes recalls thinking... present tense again.

Overall, I think this is a fairly good article about a little movie I've never heard of before. :) Once the above issues are addressed, I'll be more than happy to promote this article to GA-status. Nice work! María (habla conmigo) 14:38, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think I've fixed everything you suggested. Thanks for the review! :) —97198 (talk) 10:27, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
