This entire article seems very wide of a fair picture of the FUGS. What I recall of the FUGS when I first learned of them in 1966 is that their feature item was sexual references and locker room humor that main stream rock bands would then have thought of as being in bad taste. Of course that was before Rap, MTV, and Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction. But typical of what made them famous was appearing clad only in raincoats that did not always stay buttoned, songs like, "The Coca Cola Douche," "He's got the Whole World by the Balls" and "I want you to Play with My Dingaling." I'm not actually trying to put this down. In those days it was fun, and my own sense of humor and sexually oriented mindset was such that I appreciated it then and can understand why younger people with hormones flowing might appreciate it now. While I have sort of outgrown it, I do not disparage the younger set who have not outgrown it. If Wikipedia does not want these things said, which I would understand as a matter of good taste, then I think the entire article should be deleted.
An article about the Fugs that does not communicate what really went on seems inappropriate and misleading.

- I disagree with the above comment. I agree that the article itself misses the mark, but I haven't read anything about the sixties that doesn't. In general, it's fairly accurate. I saw them a few times on MacDougal Street and while the performances did have some humour thrown in to break things up, the overwhelming thrust of the music and lyrics were anti-establishment, anti-war, anti-hypocrisy. The closing song was a Kill for Peace that I remember to this day. You could fairly claim that Ed Sanders tends to be pretentious but dismissing them as juvenile toilet humor is simply wrong. 210.22.142.82 (talk) 10:17, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
