Genre

I was thinking that we should change the current genres into subgenres, since they're more specific. There are so many different subsidiaries of pop, dance, and electronic music. Except for "Brown Eyes" the album is mainly electropop and dance-pop oriented. How does everyone else feel about making a change? --Christianrxx (talk) 23:26, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Christianrxx

UK tracklisting

The UK release also contained "Disco Heaven" and "Again Again". "Retro, Dance, Freak" was the only Japanese-only bonus. Iamsallyaciy (talk) 21:29, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Writing and production credits are also missing for these songs, which are as follows:
    • "Disco Heaven" (Written by Lady Gaga, Rob Fusari and Tom Kafafian; produced by Rob Fusari)
    • "Again Again" (Written by Lady Gaga and Rob Fusari; produced by Rob Fusari)
    • "Retro, Dance, Freak" (Written by Lady Gaga and Rob Fusari; produced by Rob Fusari)

The FameThe Fame (album) – Many similar articles from the Fame page; "The Fame" should be redirected to "Fame", because they have the same meaning in English; and this is English Wikipedia, too. Silvergoat (talkcontrib) 15:11, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

  • Oppose Not a good rationale to move. The word "rumours" is cleary not about an album, but the album is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, which is the same as here. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 20:33, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Disambiguation by detail is encouraged by WP:PRECISION. Also, Wikipedia is not a dictionary. What people are seeking when they look up a term is not necessarily the same as that term's most common meaning. Try googling "The Fame" -wikipedia. Kauffner (talk) 22:10, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose. While the fame—in lowercase—might be interpreted the way Silvergoat suggested, the capitalization makes clear the precision that this is about a work of art. Lady Gaga's album is clearly the primary topic for items with the title of The Fame. —C.Fred (talk) 22:31, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Total time for album

Under the international and Canadian version of The Fame, the total time is listed at 42:21, but with the addition of one iTunes bonus track at 3:24, somehow the total time for the album jumps up to 57:43. Were the versions of the albums themselves different? Captain Gamma (talk) 19:17, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

Mid-Year 2016 Charts

Should we add this somewhere? GagaNutellatalk 06:03, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

@GagaNutella: I think The Fame's Dance/Electronic achievements are already mentioned and I believe it must have charted in every mid year chart for Dance/Electronic from the moment it came out. So singling out 2016 does not seem worthwhile for me. If they would have given a break of SEA/TEA or the actual album sales maybe yes then. —IB [ Poke ] 07:12, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the answer! GagaNutellatalk 22:48, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Updated US sales 2019

Billboard/Nielsen just posted a pure sales updated for The Fame, according to their latest article the album has sold 5,1 million pure copies now. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8493644/lady-gaga-just-dance-rewinding-the-charts-2009 2A02:810B:1040:FB8:B1EE:807C:4B2:4858 (talk) 13:23, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Done. —IB [ Poke ] 13:46, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

I am puzzled, according to Nielsen, on Billboard article, in January 2019 The Fame has sold 5.1 million, but from March 2019 it says 4.83 million? Which one is it? January: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8493644/lady-gaga-just-dance-rewinding-the-charts-2009 vs March https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8504717/a-star-is-born-soundtrack-passes-1-million-us-sales Also here in February 2019 https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8497475/lady-gaga-sales-streams-ariana-grande-ask-billboard it says 4.8 million Dhoffryn (talk) 09:33, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
