Issues edit

There are a lot of problems with this article, starting with its generally unreferenced state. I strongly suggest that editors read and apply the school article guidelines, and keep in mind the core policies for wikipedia including WP:V, WP:N and so on. I also strongly suggest that editors use this talkpage to discuss out any issues. I've left messages at user talkpages for who I see as the main participants here. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 22:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, I've gone back over CornElder's work, and there's still issues.

  1. Citations are needed for the section on construction;
  2. The visual arts section is wholly problematic. Saying that students do art for x periods per week is very run of the mill and somewhat WP:SCHOOLCRUFTy. Saying that the creative process is emphasised, or what have you, is somewhat WP:PEACOCKy. A self published source is not enough to confer notability for the head teacher.
  3. "The Ensworth School is especially noted for its use of both domestic and international recruits." ...according to whom?
  4. Removed mention of tennis and riflery, it still needs to be noted in a WP:RS
  5. I've removed the achievement sections, it MUST be sourced.
  6. I've removed two paragraphs from the Academics section. Saying that it has achieved success is WP:PEACOCKy, particularly without a citation. The second bit, that they differentiate the curriculum, is run of the mill (I've visited one classroom schools that do this).
  7. 16th out of 25 isn't especially "consistent", either.

Essentially, WP:WPSCH/AG is not being closely followed here. The page is full of WP:SCHOOLCRUFT and is written too much from a non-neutral perspective. It does need more references, particularly for contentious statements. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 01:08, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

And you can not use a self published source to claim that a school is a premier anything. Otherwise the school at which I teach is a "world leader" in sport and academics. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 01:23, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, that was a learning experience... ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 02:36, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
