Contested deletion edit

The article is inspired by the previously deleted one (which was exported to manga.wikia.com, hence the similarities). I am actively maintaining and renovating the article.

I can't seem to understand why the original article was deleted in the first place, while smaller (yet similar) light novel articles are kept. Cydwæise (talk) 19:02, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

See the previous two deletion discussions: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Empty Box and the Zeroth Maria. As for your other point, see WP:OTHERSTUFF. Opencooper (talk) 20:04, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. In case an admin sees this: Could you please move the article to my user space? I'll try to improve it until it's good enough/an anime adaptation is announced. Cydwæise (talk) 20:41, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Want to help with the Plot Section of the page edit

Hello I m student studying in the University KMUTT. Total noob here. The reason i came here is because we have this assignment to create or help and add information to a wikipedia article. So ya i m a huge fan of Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria and read all the novels and well i want to contribute to this page. So i just wrote a small paragraph for the plot section and would like to expand the other character section using Myanimelist as reference. you can delete or edit my words, no problem. But please do tell me as to why you deleted it or edited it (if you do so), so that i can learn from it. (PS: I hope i m using the talk section correctly) Konosuba12 (talk) 17:28, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Konosuba12: Sigh, you used the visual editor which doesn't show comments properly, but if you clicked the small "i" there, you would see a comment saying "This MUST be in your own words, otherwise it is a violation of copyright". You cannot rephrase a summary from myanimelist into Wikipedia, that is considered plagiarism. While you can obtain help from your university for understanding that concept better, you can see WIkipedia's policy on copyright or the message I left on your talk page. Additionally, MyAnimeList is not considered to be reliable as a source for anything since it is user-editable, just like Wikipedia. Also note that "This is not a Wikipedia article: It is an individual user's work-in-progress page, and may be incomplete and/or unreliable." This may not become an article and was deleted twice before, so you might want to expend your efforts towards an article that is already published. (and yes you are using the talk page correctly) Lastly I wonder how you even found this draft considering that Wikipedia user pages are not indexed by search engines. If you are Cydwæise, please read our policy on using multiple accounts. Opencooper (talk) 21:10, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Opencooper: No no i m not Cydwæise. As i have mentioned before i need to do something of the sorts for my assignment. And well i stumbled across this page when i was viewing the wikipedia article about the book in other languages. It was connected to this article, here's one. I found the english version on the language tab. And well ya i thought this was a published article, my bad i didnt read carefully and thank you for your input. I checked out the guidelines for citations in wikipedia aswell as the plagiarism policy. Well i guess i cant do much here. Konosuba12 (talk) 02:08, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Konosuba12: Oh okay sorry for the confusion then, it shouldn't be doing that for drafts... You could always write a summary in your own words (though like before I can't guarantee the article will be published). You could also check out Category:Light novels or any of the other articles Wikipedia has. Let me know on my talk page or the tea house if you have any questions or need help and you'll be gladly assisted. Opencooper (talk) 04:13, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
