The Ellsworth American → Ellsworth American – WP:THE. In most cases, we omit "The" from the names of articles about newspapers on Wikipedia. BarrelProof (talk) 15:56, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Oppose: Some newspapers would be preceded with 'the' e.g. the Los Angeles Times, the New York Post, although not part of the official logo and name unlike: The New York Times or The Washington Post which do include it. Thank you for pointing that out. I wasn't very confident, which is why I submitted the move request for discussion instead of doing a "bold" move. I thought I had checked the New York Times, but now I see that you're right about that. I would be happy to withdraw the request at this point (but I don't know whether Wikipedia allows self-closing of move requests). However, I do still suggest that a redirect be created. If no one objects to that, I may go ahead and do it. I had not previously done that since I thought just moving the article might be the better choice. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:06, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
